Jammu-Kashmir: National Conference vice-president and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah lashed out at the BJP government at the Center in Pahalgam. Omar Abdullah, who came to participate in a program in Anantnag district of South Kashmir, said that he and his party will not go to the central government for begging.
In response to a question, he targeted the BJP-led central government and said that BJP is afraid of holding elections in the Union Territory. He said that we will see when he will conduct the elections, we are fully prepared for the elections, but we will not go to him begging for the elections to be held.
‘BJP is afraid of elections’
Abdullah, who was the former CM of Jammu and Kashmir, said that BJP is scared. They do not have the guts to hold elections in the UT. He said tauntingly that first you let him gather courage, then we will show him where he stands in the election field.

Abdullah said that after forming the government in Jammu and Kashmir, he would repeal the Public Safety Act (PSA) from the UT and he stood by his stand. He said that there is nothing new about the cancellation of PSA and he has not said anything strange in this matter.

Umar told the party workers that the central government has kept only those laws in the state which can be used to oppress the people. He said that there is no public safety law anywhere in the country, only Jammu and Kashmir has this law. I have said it before and am saying it again that when the National Conference government comes to power, this law will be repealed on the very first day.
